Erblich: Indra, it’s so valuable when other companies in our community can just first find out a little bit about the people. So would you start by telling us a little bit about yourself and your journey?
It’s a privilege to talk to you. We have the greatest respect for your organization and Ethisphere as a whole scoring system. So thank you for including us in this podcast. I came to the United States in 1978, went to school up at Yale, at the Yale Business School. Before then, I was just a normal kid growing up in India and growing up with the type of mom who pushed me to higher levels of performance.
Erblich: I’d love to get your take on Performance with Purpose, what was really interesting about Performance with Purpose as I watched your many conversations out there was ten years ago, you said “I’ve got to connect with the why”. Can you talk more about this?
So let’s go back to 20-25 years ago, if somebody talked about PepsiCo and asked our employees why do you work at PepsiCo? What do you do there? Well, we make soda and chips. That was just fine in those days. I think in the recent decades, I’d say in the last 10-15 years, people want to say more than that. People are really worried about the future of society.
