Asia Pacific: The New Age of Compliance at Autodesk

Tania Pavaskar, Head of Compliance, APAC, Autodesk, spoke to Ethisphere’s Aarti Maharaj, about how to operationalise compliance across Asia Pacific through redefining what is possible.

AM: Could you provide some tips for creating a compliance program that is proactive vs. reactive?

TP: When you practise compliance, it is important to know that at the core of any program is culture. A robust culture of compliance allows you to prepare and anticipate risks and opportunities that exist. In short, a strong compliance program allows us to think ahead and beyond what is provided on paper.

Compliance and ethics should remain top-of-mind across the company. One way to encourage this is to ensure that it is deeply embedded into all meetings. For example, a two-minute session on compliance knowledge-sharing can inspire and educate others to pass on what they know.

Next, consistent compliance monitoring is a dynamic process that provides a closer look at risks, organisational performance, and evaluates the overall health of the compliance
program. Through effective compliance monitoring, you can identify and address
gaps instead of being flagged by audit
